Artist Statement

I create sculptures, drawings, paintings, and unique combinations of these mediums. My imagery delves into themes of girlhood, womanhood, the loss of innocence, and grief. My works give voice to feelings and experiences that are often silenced, resulting in confrontational and uncomfortable pieces that reveal haunting truths.

Recurring symbols in my work include icons of death and morality, depictions of slaughtered animals, images of lace, and women and girls. I draw on poetry, literature, and mythology to build my concepts, allowing the ideas to evolve naturally into whatever form feels right.

Depending on the concept, my work can range from detailed and technical to lose and expressive. I resist fitting into any particular stylistic box, allowing the subject matter to dictate the approach.
